Priority Professional Group is searching for Registered Nurses for a critical access hospital. Different shifts as well as full time and PRN status available.
The Registered Nurse provides direct and indirect patient care in the Emergency Department setting. Communicates with physicians/Nurse Manager/co-workers, as appropriate about changes in patient’s clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in nursing duties in all departments with adequate supervision.
Ability to communicate effectively, detect odors, stand, walk, sit, for extended periods. Ability to squat, stoop bend, crawl, reach overhead, push, pull, manipulate small object with dexterity and lift up to 50 pounds. Must possess the ability to think critically and practice autonomously.
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Current registration with the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
1 year of previous experience working in an Emergency Room setting is required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required upon hire.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within an agreed upon time frame after placement.
Trauma Nursing Core Couse (TNCC) and Emergency Nurse Pediatic Course (ENPC) preferred.
Comprehensive knowledge of general nursing theory and practice including basic knowledge related to nursing such as biological, physical, social and medical sciences and their application. Must have basic knowledge to assess and care for neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. Familiarity with organization and function of all departments; standards, policies and procedures of the Nursing Department. Knowledge of literature and new developments in the nursing field.
